Silver-toned stainless steel, engraved end to end in the stepped, interlocking pattern that has marked Mexican metalwork for generations.

Each step cut a little deeper or shorter than the one above it, never landing on an exact repeat.

Look close at the 8-point rowel. No two spikes are exactly the same. One is a hair longer than the one next to it. Another sits a little wider. The gaps between them change as you go around the wheel.

That's not a defect. That's a file, a hammer, and a steady hand.

A machine-made rowel has eight points cut exactly the same, and every pair in the store is the same pair.

This one was shaped by a Mexican espuelero working by eye. The variation is his signature.

The pattern is centuries old. The pair is one of one. No two leave the workshop alike.
