Made for the occasions that matter.

One pair. One maker. One of one.

Blackened steel, hand-engraved in bright silver-toned chevrons and flowing lines by a Mexican espuelero.

Our heaviest pair. Blackened, then engraved by hand the hard way.

Azabache is Spanish for jet black. The whole wide band is blackened first, then engraved by hand: rows of bright chevrons cut through deep black, end to end. No bare metal.

This is the harder way to engrave. After the blackening, the espuelero cleans the pattern out with a fine hair burin, line by line. One slip and the tool scratches the black that is meant to stay black. Nothing here is stamped or machine-cut.

The rowel is a star, and every point carries its own wavy-line engraving. Behind it sit two ornamental discs with dotted detail, and small pendants that move when you walk.

More iron. A wider band. You feel it as soon as you pick them up. Each spur weighs about [WEIGHT].

Look closer and you'll see the hand that made them. No two lines run exactly the same. The Azabache was shaped by a Mexican espuelero, and those small differences are what make your pair yours.

[Optional: This is the only pair of the Azabache we have.]

Frequently Asked Questions.

Questions about our products, shipping and returns. Not here? Write to info@casadelcharro.com or call us at (310) 400-0118

Are they really handmade in Mexico?

Yes. Each pair is made in Mexico by an espuelero, a spur maker. The steel is shaped and the pattern is engraved by hand.

You can check it yourself. Look at the rowel. The points are not all the same length, and the gaps between them change as you go around. A file and a hammer leave that. A machine cuts every point the same.

It also means your pair will not match any other pair.

Will mine look exactly like the photos?

Close, but not the same. No two pairs are alike. A small mark or an uneven line is part of the handwork, not a flaw.

If your pair arrives damaged, or is not what you ordered, write to us and we will send a new one at our cost.

If a design sells out, will you make it again?

Every pair is made by hand, so no two are alike. When a design sells out, that exact pair is gone.

Are they sold as a pair?

Yes. One order is one pair. Each spur weighs about 6.6 oz.
